Wigan aim to become the first side to breach fortress Turf Moor on Saturday when they head to Burnley.
The Clarets have won their last 10 matches in the league on home soil, a run which stretches back to February 28th.
They have taken maximum points from their four fixtures in front of their own supporters this term, with Manchester United, Everton, Sunderland and Birmingham put to the sword.
Own Coyle's men have, however, looked vulnerable at the back this season, with only Hull City (22) having been breached on more occasions than the Clarets (19).
Wigan have also struggled to keep things tight, with only two clean sheets taken from their nine top-flight outings so far.
The Latics have also come unstuck on their last three trips out on the road and continue to lack consistency despite seeing off the likes of Chelsea and Aston Villa when in full flow.
While the game appears to promise goals, history dictates that meetings between these two sides are usually mundane affairs.
Three of their last five contests have ended goalless, while six of the last eight have finished all square.
No worries
Burnley have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game and Coyle is not expected to make too many changes to the side which slipped to a narrow 3-2 derby defeat to Blackburn last week.
Fernando Guerrero could come back into contention following a hamstring problem, but he is lacking match sharpness and is unlikely to be handed a starting berth.
Kevin McDonald (knee), Jay Rodriguez (ankle), Martin Paterson (knee) and Chris McCann (knee) all remain sidelined.
Double doubt
Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland and midfielder Paul Scharner are both doubtful for the weekend encounter.
Kirkland dislocated a finger in the second half of Sunday's 1-1 draw against Manchester City - and although he saw out the game, he has yet to train this week.
Scharner sustained a hip injury that forced him off after 72 minutes against the Blues and, like Kirkland, has not participated in any training since.
